Three months cruise soon at the end.

Was moored two nights at Polesworth, the time I was here only two other boats stopped. Good peaceful mooring.
 Some photos around the village

Yesterday morning was a grey and rainy start
 Alvecote marina on the left
 Nice canal side garden
Its a nice cruise this way past Tamworth

Before the first lock at Glascote I stopped outside Co op, when set of a boat used come out of this lock so easy going here.
 Tame Aqueduct
My three months trip going soon to and end.

From Fazeley I meet only two other boats, was a nice change from manic Oxford canal.
Start the climb up to Birmingham and after this one is only 37 locks to go.
Moored up at The dog & Doublet visitors mooring
Had my first overnight stop here three months ago so good place to stop before the big climb to Birmingham on Monday.

Cheers

Happy Days!

I know that boat.

Yesterday morning I set of around 9 am and had 11 narrow locks to do. The weather started little dull but become warmer and rather nice, and when doing locks you get warm anyway.

Was many other boats going down as well but on first lock there was a lock keeper so easy start.
Here i was waiting for a boat leaving this lock, was no wind so was staying in middle of the canal

 Nice bridge
 Beddesley Basin
Most locks was easy work to day.

Only two locks to go after this.
 Get another boat going up.
When i left the last lock I could see a boat I knew, Andante and Wicki and Richard, its three years since I was meeting them last time. So I stopped like you do, and at this time the sun was out and really warm so we took our camping chars and had a long good chat, in to the small hours.

Was really lovely to see you both again and safe cruise to Oxford, and hopefully see you two again soon.

Happy days !

Rugby to Atherstone

Saturday morning I set of from Rugby by 9 am,
This is the Newbould tunnel, for many years ago this tunnel had such lovely lightning inside, but all gone now, shame.
The canal from Rugby to Hawksbury junction is ever so dull cruise at times
 Early morning smile

Few spot between are rather nice though

Moored over night right before Hawkesbury Junction.

Sunday Morning I set of around 11 am, and had another relaxing cruise and now on the Coventry Canal.

This pub I will visit one day, seems like every time I going this way I newer stop. I guess it could been nice to sit and watch other boaters there.
That boat going in to the Oxford Canal, where i used come from, ( Sutton Stop lock)
I am now on the Coventry Canal.
This yard is rather full up of old boats and other stuff

Did like usually and cruised quick past Nuneaton and moored in the countryside half a mile before Springwood H Marina, lovely mooring.
Monday Morning I had only few short miles to cruise To Atherstone, where I will stay a night before going down the lock flight of 11 to morrow morning.

Springwood haven marina, rather nice location

 CRT Hartshill Jard.

 Horses in the mist.
This boat yard had also Alpacas in the gardens
When cruising in to Atherstone some nice gardens

Since Rugby I have done 23 miles and 1 stop lock Between Oxford canal and Coventry Canal.
