The first Christmas on Verulam in years. Normally I would traveled back to Norway for few weeks in December. After Brexit everything changed for many people living abroad, for me this would probably be my last Christmas and winter on my Narrow Boat for years to come. I wish you all a merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

My first Cruise in Three Years.
November 14 I arrived back in the UK after almost three years away. Was such lovely calming feeling be back home on the boat. February 3. 2020 I left Birmingham for holidays in Grand Canary but in stead coming back here i become first stuck in Canaries for 6 months due to corona restrictions. Unfortunate i become really ill of Covid-19 in Mars 2020 as well. And when back in Norway Summer 2020 I become wheelchair bound after a spinal damage. For few months ago I was back up on my feet and now back home on my bellowed narrow boat. For few weeks at least.
Monday this week I had my first little cruise around in Central Birmingham.
You could say 1768 is Port Loop’s Birthday; that’s when construction of the Birmingham canal network began – the first ever canal in the City and was engineered by James Brindley. During its construction, the loop was created and was soon known as the Icknield Port Loop – taking its name from the nearby Roman Icknield Street.

After many years pause doing a blog I will start to write again. Next Summer I will also try do a travel

I did not meant to stop blogging for such long time, when i had a pause in 2018.
But because of a long list of health problems.
I have not been boating for almost three long years now.
But really soon I will do boating again.
Kirstie.
